Reflections:
Beauty Is… The Reflections program began for most students in September. Poway Unified students from 36 PTA/PTSA units drew and painted, they wrote, produced films, choreographed dance, and wrote/performed musical compositions all in an effort to interpret this year’s theme. Thousands of students, beginning at the local unit level submitted their work for review. Hundreds more were sent from the units on to Palomar Council. After rigorous judging of all entries by professional artists in the various artistic fields 54 PUSD students advanced to the next level, Ninth District PTA (which includes San Diego and Imperial counties). Here they were judged again to determine which entries would advance to the State PTA Reflections program. Only one entry from each age level and each art category reaches this level of the program from each district. We at Palomar Council have 8 students, one or more in each art category and one or more from each age level—a first for our council!
